Portable air cooler development
You may already have a fan that sells. The next question is whether it can be quieter, easier to refill, more convincing on the shelf—or simply less like everything else in the market.
We start with a working product platform and improve the parts your customers will actually notice.
Start with what is true
The sample already has a useful format: portable size, a large water tank, rechargeable power, visible mist and simple controls. That gives us a sensible starting point.
It also has a clear weakness: the sound is louder than we would like.
Before presenting it as an improved model, we would check the motor, blade, air path and housing vibration, then agree on a measurable noise target. Mist output, runtime and water handling should be tested at the same time—not added later as marketing claims.
Reference specification: 650 ml water tank, 1800 mAh battery, 4 W power, 5 V/2 A input and 155 × 185 × 190 mm size. The current version supports CE, RoHS, FCC and UKCA requirements; the final compliance scope is confirmed for the destination market and exact configuration.
Where we would look first
Find a better balance between perceived airflow, motor speed, blade design and the sound the user hears at a desk or bedside.
Review mist direction, output consistency, refilling, leak risk, condensation and how easily the tank can be cleaned.
Set the battery around the use case and retail price rather than keeping a capacity simply because it is already in the sample.
Refine the grille, controls, colors, finishes and packaging so the product fits your brand without pretending a color change is a new design.
European battery direction
For rechargeable fans intended for the EU market, battery access now belongs in the first product brief. Article 11 of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 applies from 18 February 2027 and, in most cases, requires a portable battery incorporated into an appliance to be readily removable and replaceable by the end user.
We can review a replaceable-battery route for a rechargeable misting fan: battery-door or removable-pack architecture, connector protection, safe access, replacement instructions and the effect on sealing, runtime, housing size and cost.
The current 1800 mAh sample is a development reference, not a claim of EU 2027 compliance. The final battery, enclosure, safety tests, transport documents and applicable exceptions must be confirmed for the exact product and market.
Two sensible routes
Not every improvement deserves a new mould. We will separate changes that fit the existing platform from changes that need tooling, certification work or a longer schedule.
Keep the main architecture and make focused changes for a seasonal or private-label program.
Rework the parts that create a real product reason to choose your version.
How the project would run
Share the current product or competitor, sales market, target price, quantity and the customer feedback you want to solve.
We identify what can stay, what should change and which claims need testing.
You receive a clear scope covering expected changes, sampling, tooling if needed, cost direction and timetable.
With our own 3D printing capability, we can quickly prepare form-and-fit prototypes for suitable parts, so you can review proportions, handling and assembly before committing to tooling. Functional targets are then tested against the agreed specification.
Meccamore remains your project contact while the matched factory handles manufacturing. Factory visits and buyer inspections can be arranged.
European buyer questions
Article 11 generally requires portable batteries incorporated into products to be readily removable and replaceable by the end user from 18 February 2027. Limited exceptions exist, so the exact appliance, intended use and safety case must be assessed before a compliance claim is made.
Sometimes, but it is not only a battery swap. The housing, access method, connector, polarity protection, battery management, sealing, instructions and spare-battery plan may all need review. We assess the physical sample before defining tooling and verification work.
Project fit
This is a practical route for brands, importers, distributors and retailers that want a more defensible product without building a large development team in-house.
